COOPERSTOWN AND AROUND

EARTH FESTIVAL:  A “Recycled Fashion” show will be a highlight of Earth Festival 2011, planned 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at Milford Central School.

BIKES WELCOME: Price Chopper has installed an inverted “U” five-bicycle rack at its Cooperstown store.

TICKETS READY: Tickets for the Hall of Fame Classic Weekend game, featuring retired Major Leaguers, go on sale at 6 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, at 25 Main St., $12.50 for first- and third-base seats and $10 for outfield.  The game is at 2 p.m. Father’s Day, June 19.

FOLK TALES: Henry Glassie, a CGP grad and one of the nation’s foremost folklorists, will deliver the 2011 Bruce Buckley Lecture at 7:30 .m. Thursday, April 14, at The Fenimore.  His topic, “Learning from the Vernacular: History From Architecture.”  Public welcome.
